Missouri is a place where once was often heard the crack of the fur trader’s rifle; of the “Mark Twain!” and the clink clank of the lock and the dam, the click clack of the West-bound. Or the ancient banjo of the underground. It is the bluebird’s song and the bald eagle’s screech echoing down the limestone xylophone river bluffs. Its shape-note book is one encoded, of parlor songs with gospel temperance, gospel songs with political power and of ragtime pianists who could just flat-out play. These are the sounds of Missouri and The Meanwells are a Missouri band.

Seasoned professionals they’ve earned the respect of promoters, club owners, producers and peers for their dedication to their craft, easy going confidence and their refreshing lack of pretense. A testimony to their affability lies in the fact the Brothers David and Jimmy have been performing together over 30 years. Along with T.J. Erhardt who has been with the band 15 years, and their newest addition, groovemaster Paul Greenlease on Bass, they are stonger than ever.

    Rose Ridge
A Wisconsin boy and Mississippi girl, Rose Ridge refers to their collaboration as running with scissors, making and faking their favorite tunes. Tracy started picking at age five, returning to the stage in 2012 after 25 years away from public performances. Jenny loves live music. Performing classical works since childhood, obtaining a degree in Music Theory & Composition, having played in a couple of local projects, decided opening a music venue in the Capital City would be a great idea. With Tracy's encouragement, returning to the stage has been a dream fulfilled. Whether performing their own creations or putting their spin on another’s song, playing in front of folks continues to fuel the fire. Doing what ya love with somebody ya love is as good as it gets.

    The Kay Brothers
After many-a yarn spun at Thanksgiving dinner over the years, two brothers finally decide to form a band together and salute the music traditional to their home: The Ozarks. With no real notion of what that "was", a banjo and upright bass were procured and the two dove into the rabbit hole of traditional Old-Time Appalachian music and, much like the music's pioneers, made it work with the minimal knowledge and equipment they had. Joined by Molly Healey and Roger Netherton on fiddles as well as "Shakin' Jake" Allen on percussion, the group boasts 4-part vocals, upright bass, guitar, banjo, washboard, congas, shakers, fiddle, harmonica, kazoo, cello, and an array of foot percussion. The mission: to preserve the rural music of our forefathers and mothers that used to fill the wooden barns that once dotted countryside on Saturday night and the small family churches on Sunday morning. That party is still going on.... it's in your blood. Description Content
